Bladder Cancer Facts

In 2010, Statistics Canada estimates that 7,100 people in Canada will be diagnosed with bladder cancer, making it the 6th most common cancer in Canada (5th most common among men, with 5,300 cases and 12th most common among women with 1,800 cases).

With a recurrence rate of nearly 80%, bladder cancer is the most expensive cancer to treat on a per patient basis, and the high recurrence rate raises many issues affecting quality of life because of its persistence
Board of Directors

CBCAN's Board of Directors, is made up of bladder cancer patients and other interested parties. The Board of Directors is charged with the governance of the organization and is legally and responsible for fulfilling—the mission, purpose and activities of the organization.

David GuttmanI was born and raised in Montreal, graduated from McGill University in Agricultural science. Moved to Toronto and worked for large corporations both in Canada and internationally. In 1982 I started a marketing company – Starboard Marketing Services. Had a great time with great clients like Ford, Rolex, Dell and GE. I sold the company in 2000 and shortly thereafter became a financial advisor.  more»
Jack Moon I was born May 11, 1950, grew up in the Belleville area, graduated with an accounting degree RIA from UOT, in 1974. Lived in Montreal for 2 years, then moved to the Toronto area in 1973, working for a large international corporation where I was the Canadian President from 1986-1991. Terry BellOnce upon a time I was privileged to own an advertising agency with John Hayter rand Jim Satterthwaite. It was Canada’s second largest Canadian owned agency and it was called Vickers and Benson. We had clients such as Bank of Montreal and McDonalds and Molson Breweries and Canada Tourism. I was the agency’s Executive Creative director and I never got used to the fact that I was being paid to have so much fun.  more»
Gerry SohlI was diagnosed with bladder cancer in December of 2001 and had a radical cystectomy in March 2002 which resulted in a neo-bladder. After a relatively brief recuperative period I resumed my normal activities and continues to exercise, and indulge my passions for motorcycling and fishing in exotic locations.  more»
